Exterior Door Handle Sticking
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
New Range Rover (LM) 3A141178 to 4A162072
SITUATION:
STIFF DOOR HANDLE OPERATION
The exterior door release handle pivot pin on affected vehicles can corrode causing the pivot to seize or stick. A customer may report a concern that the
exterior door release handle is stiff or fails to return correctly.
RESOLUTION:
REPLACE DOOR HANDLE PIVOT PINS
Should a customer express concern regarding the above and the vehicle is within the specified VIN range, refer to the Service Procedure detailed in this
bulletin to replace all of the external door release handle pivot pins.
PARTS INFORMATION
DDW WARRANTY CLAIMS:
DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
INSTALL NEW-SPECIFICATION REPLACEMENT PIVOT PINS ON EACH DOOR
NOTE:

Refer to GTR Section 76.58.07 and remove each exterior door handle.
CAUTION:
Care must be taken when removing the pivot pin to avoid damage to the handle assembly.
