Using a suitable pin punch, release the pivot pin from the removed handle. (Arrowed in Figure 1)

Visually inspect the pivot hole and clean if necessary.

CAUTION:

Care must be taken when installing the new pivot pin to avoid damage to the handle assembly. The pin must be installed in parallel to the pivot
hole and the pivot holes must be aligned.

Verify that the pin is parallel to the pivot hole and that the pivot holes are aligned.

Install a new pivot pin. (Figure 1)

Apply grease to the mass balance assembly to lubricate the release mechanism. (Figure 2)

7.

Ensure the handle operation is smooth and returns fully.

8.

Install the repaired exterior door handle.

9.

Continue with steps 1 through 8 until all exterior door handles on the vehicle have new pins installed.
