Clearing Transfer Gearbox Code

SITUATION:

NEW TRANSFER GEARBOX ECU PROMPTS CODE

When installing a new ECU into a vehicle build after 3A136630, fault code "1232 - Motor Direction Error" may be stored. This is the result of a
software error that prompts the code to be stored.

RESOLUTION:

UTILIZE TESTBOOK/T4 TO CLEAR THE CODE

If fault code 21232 "Motor Direction Error" is stored when installing a new transfer gearbox ECU, clear the code. Select "Fault Code Diagnostics" while
TestBook/T4 is connected and follow the on-screen instructions to clear the fault code.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

INSTALL ECU AND CORRECT FAULT CODE

Refer to RAVE section 41.30.01 and follow the procedure for replacement of the ECU, including TestBook/T4 connection. (Figure 1)

When physical installation is completed and all routine TestBook steps are finalized, select "Fault Code Diagnostics" while TestBook/T4 is still
connected.

Follow the on-screen instructions to clear fault code 21232.
