The SRS system must be rendered "safe" prior to commencing repairs.

CAUTION: 

Failure to wait two minutes after switching oft the ignition before disconnecting the battery will damage the navigation computer.

1.

Refer to RAVE Workshop Manual General Information "Electrical Precautions, Battery Disconnection" and "Supplementary Restraint System
(SRS) Precautions" and perform the following:

Switch off the ignition and wait two minutes to ensure NAV computer settings are preserved.

Disconnect both battery cables and ensure that the SRS is in a safe condition to perform repairs.

Refer to RAVE section 76.74.11 and perform the following preliminary steps:

Remove the B post upper trim (RAVE section 76.13.28).

^

Remove the front and rear carpet retainers (RAVE section 76.49.17).

3.

Remove the Torx bolt securing the seat belt reel to the B post and move the seat belt reel aside.

4.

Remove the two scrivets securing the centre carpet retainer to the B post and remove the carpet retainer.

5.

Tighten the side crash sensor retaining bracket Torx bolts to 8 Nm (72 lbf.in.). (Figure 1)

6.

Position the seat belt reel to B post, start the Torx bolt and tighten to 31 Nm (23 lbf.ft.).

7.

Install the center carpet retainer to B post and secure with scrivets.

8.

Install the rear carpet retainer.

9.

Install the front carpet retainer.

10.

Install the B post upper trim.

11.

Go to Step 2 and perform the same procedure on the alternate side of the vehicle.

12.

Connect the battery cables and reset vehicle systems as required.

NOTE: 

Campaign labels may have multiple Campaign numbers written on them if multiple campaigns are performed at the same time.
