Unexplained "SELECT NEUTRAL" Message Display on Instrument Pack

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

Range Rover (LM) All

SITUATION:

"SELECT NEUTRAL" MESSAGE DISPLAYED

A customer may report a concern that the 'Select Neutral' message is illuminated on the Instrument Panel message center. A second message for 'Low
Range' may also illuminate. Engine speed may not maintain expected vehicle road speed.

RESOLUTION:

INSPECT FOR DRIVESHAFT DISENGAGEMENT

Upon customer complaint of the "Select Neutral" message refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin. Diagnosis may reveal that the root cause
of the display and symptoms is the disengagement of a front driveshaft from the differential.

PARTS INFORMATION

DDW WARRANTY CLAIMS:

DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

Carry out the following steps to verify if disengagement of a driveshaft is the cause of the complaint:

Raise the vehicle so the front wheels are freely suspended.
