Clearing Transfer Gearbox Code

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

SITUATION:

NEW TRANSFER GEARBOX ECU PROMPTS CODE

When installing a new ECU into a vehicle build after VIN 3A136630, fault code "21232 - Motor Direction Error" may be stored. This is the result of a
software error that prompts the code.

RESOLUTION:

UTILIZE TESTBOOKIT4 TO CLEAR THE CODE

If fault code 21232 Motor Direction Error is stored when installing a new transfer gearbox ECU, clear the code. Select Fault Code Diagnostics while
TestBook/T4 is still connected and follow the on-screen instructions to clear the fault code.

No parts required to correct code

WARRANTY CLAIMS:

Normal warranty policy and procedures apply. Material allowance is included in labor operation.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

INSTALL ECU AND CORRECT FAULT CODE

1.

Refer to RAVE section 41.30.01 and follow the procedure for replacement of the ECU, including TestBook/T4 connection.

2.

When physical installation is completed and all routine TestBook steps are finalized, select Fault Code Diagnostics while TestBook/T4 is still
connected.

3.

Follow the on-screen instructions to clear fault code 21232.
