DETAIL
The wiring for the Center High Mount Stop Light (CHMSL) in the upper tailgate harness may be pinched by one of the screws that secures the panel
shelf extension to the vehicle body. When this happens, the CHMSL shorts and blows Fuse 17. This results in a disabled shift interlock system and a
vehicle that is stuck in PARK. Taping the CHMSL wires inside the trim piece away from the screw will prevent this from happening.
NOTE:
On vehicles built after VIN TA334213, the panel shelf extension has been supplied to the factory with the wires already taped down.
The diagnostic steps and repair procedures detailed on the following pages were developed as an element of the Land Rover Way OPERATION
PRIDE. This TIB provides a library location for PRIDE information within the Land Rover North America technical literature system.
