Transmission Breather Tube Modification

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

RANGE ROVER (LP)

SITUATION:

Water can become captive in the end of the transmission breather tube installed as part of Recall D321-D324 or in late production GEMS vehicles. If the
water freezes, transmission fluid may be forced from the dipstick assembly with the potential for an engine fire.

RESOLUTION:

ALTER THE END OF THE INSTALLED TRANSMISSION BREATHER TUBE

On all vehicles modified or equipped with a transmission breather tube which terminates at either the left or right fender well location, the routing of the
hose must be adjusted and the end trimmed and positioned as per the procedures outlined below.
