Parking Pawl: Service and Repair

PARKING PAWL ASSEMBLY 

Remove 
1. Remove rear extension housing gasket.

2. Remove Torx screw and discard, lift off parking pawl guide and guide plate.
3. Remove ratchet, spring and pivot pin.

4. Remove and discard circlip from output shaft.
5. Remove bearing track and park lock gear.
6. Remove and discard O-ring from output shaft.

Refit 
7. Clean park lock components.
8. Lubricate and fit new O-ring to output shaft.
9. Position park lock gear, bearing track and secure with new circlip.

10. Position pivot pin, spring and ratchet.
11. Position parking pawl guide and guide plate, tighten Torx screw to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).
12. Clean extension housing and gearbox case.
13. Position new gasket to gearbox case.
14. Position extension housing and tighten bolts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). 
15. Fit rear extension housing gasket.
