Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
With Automatic Transmission

REMOVAL 

1. Remove drive plate.

2. Remove oil seal from location.

CAUTION:  Do not damage seal location or running surface on crankshaft.

INSTALLATION 

1. Ensure both seal location and running surface on crankshaft are clean.
2. Ensure mating faces of flywheel and crankshaft are clean.

3. Lubricate seal guide LRT-12-095, or equivalent with clean engine oil. Position over crankshaft boss.
4. Lubricate oil seal lip.
5. Position seal squarely. Remove guide.
6. Drift seal into location using LRT-12-091, or equivalent.
7. Install drive plate.
