Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair
Steering Box Return Hose

CAUTION:  Seal all disconnected pipes and ports to prevent ingress of dirt.

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect battery earth lead.
2. Raise and support front of vehicle.
3. Position container to catch spillage.

4. Remove 2 bolts (4) securing Power Assisted Steering (PAS)  fluid reservoir to radiator bracket.
5. Remove clip (5) securing return hose to PAS fluid reservoir and disconnect return hose.
6. Position cloth to catch spillage.

7. Remove banjo bolt (7) securing pump return hose to steering box and discard 2 washers.
8. Remove nut (8) securing PAS hose brackets to steering box.
9. Release PAS hose brackets (9) from stud.

10. Release PAS pipe from 2 radiator lower bracket clips (10).
11. Remove pump return hose.

INSTALLATION 

1. Position return hose to vehicle.
2. Remove plugs from hose and PAS fluid reservoir.
3. Clean hose and PAS pump union.
4. Connect return hose union to PAS fluid reservoir and secure with clip (5).
