It is possible within the above VIN range for the EAS compressor to be periodically heard inside the vehicle as a droning noise. Stopping the
compressor, which can be done by depressing the dash mounted EAS rocker switch 'down' will help to confirm that the noise is coming from the
compressor. The noise in most cases is due to the mounting of the compressor and NOT an internal fault in the compressor itself.

From VIN SA314000, revised dished washers were introduced to mount the compressor. These parts were introduced to cure the noise problem, and are
now available from LRNA Parts.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint of a compressor noise noted from within the vehicle, follow the procedure detailed below.

PARTS INFORMATION

STC 3068 dished washers 6 required. 

STC 828 Rubber mounts 2 required.

PROCEDURE

Refer to the workshop manual section 60, air Compressor.

Procedure

1)

Remove cover from air supply unit under the hood.

2)

Remove three compressor mount nuts.
