4.

Remove six Phillips screws securing the trim panel to the upper tailgate (illustration).

5.

Release the 4 studs securing the trim panel to the upper tailgate.

6.

Disconnect the stop lamp connector.

7.

Remove trim piece.

8.

Inspect the wires and repair if necessary

Repair

Cut an approximately two inch by one inch wide piece of masking tape and secure the wires away from the screw post as shown in the illustration.

Installation

1.

Reconnect stop lamp connector and secure the trim panel to the 4 studs.

2.

Secure the trim panel to the upper tailgate using the 6 screws.

3.

Reconnect the electrical connectors and secure the load space lamp to the trim panel.

4.

Reconnect negative battery terminal.
