Using tool # LRT-51-009, install seal in differential.

4.

Install flange as follows:

Position flange.

^

Hold flange with tool LRT-51-003 (figure 2).

Install new nut and tighten to 135 Nm (100 lbf. ft.)

5.

Using a dial indicator check the drive flange. 
Maximum permissible run out

0.010 mm (0.004 inches) 

Face run out

0.010 mm (0.004 inches)

NOTE:  Run out and face run out may be optimized by removing the drive flange and rotating it through 180 degrees prior to refitting.

6.

Reinstall driveshaft with bolts and new nuts. Tighten to 48 Nm. (35 lbf. ft.).

7.

Replenish axle oil (GL4, GL5).

8.

Mark nose of differentials with marker supplied.

9.

Road test vehicle and check for leaks.

Some differential pinion oil seals can leak on 1995 Range Rovers. The following procedure will replace the seals with an improved design seal to
eliminate leakage.

The diagnostic steps and repair procedures detailed in this bulletin were developed as an element of the Land Rover Way Operation PRIDE. This TIB
provides a library location for PRIDE information within the Land Rover North America technical literature system.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint for the symptoms outlined perform the specified repairs.
