Perform the diagnostic procedures and repairs outlined in this bulletin for the repair of rear axle tube seals.

Removal

1.

Remove road wheels.

2.

Remove lower guide pin of each caliper (figure 1).

3.

Rotate caliper up and remove brake pads.

4.

Lower caliper and loosely install lower guide pin.

5.

Remove two bolts holding caliper to hub (figure 1) and discard caliper bolts.

6.

Remove caliper and tie aside making sure brake hose is not stressed.

7.

Remove screw holding disc and remove disc (figure 2).

8.

Using wire brush, remove corrosion from disc mating surface before cleaning with a suitable solvent.

9.

Remove three bolts and remove disc shield (figure 2).

10.

Remove two bolts and remove shield strap (figure 2).
