Fit taper collet into swivel, until a 4 mm (0.16 in) gap exists between the shoulder of collet and swivel.

8.

Fit swivel hub to axle. Fit upper joint nut (Figure 6). Holding joint with Allen key, tighten nut to 110 Nm. (81 lbf. ft.).

9.

Fit and tighten lower swivel joint nut until the taper is seated in the collet, but the collet can still turn. Adjust the height of the hub using taper
collet until tool # LRT-54-006/2 is a sliding fit in hub.

10.

Remove tool # LRT-54-006/2. Tighten collet 1.25 turns to allow for further seating into taper when tightening lower swivel joint nut.

11.

Tighten lower swivel joint nut to 160 Nm. (118 lbf. ft.).

12.

Check adjustment of swivel hub using tool # LRT-54-006/2. If swivel hub is too high, remove tool # LRT-54-006/2, tighten the lower swivel joint
nut a further 20 Nm. (15 lbf. ft.), check adjustment. If adjustment is still required, tighten lower swivel joint nut to a maximum torque of 200 Nm.
(148 lbf. ft.).

If swivel hub is too low or adjustment is still necessary, loosen lower swivel joint nut and break taper. Seat taper into collet. Turn collet as
required. If swivel hub is high, tighten collet. If it is low, loosen collet. Torque lower swivel nut. Recheck adjustment using tool # LRT-54-006/2.

14.

Loosen clamp screw and remove tool # LRT-54-006/1 from axle casing.

15.

Clean drag link and track rod end mating faces. Connect to swivel hub.

16.

Tighten track rod and drag link nuts to 80 Nm. (60 lbf. ft.).

Installation

1.

Clean ABS sensor and location, drive shaft and its seal location, and hub bearing carrier and its location in the hub.

2.

Lubricate oil seal lip and its running surface on driveshaft.

3.

Fit axle seal to axle case, using tool # LRT-54-012.

4.

Fit hub and driveshaft assembly. Fit new hub bolts and tighten to 135 Nm. (100 lbf. ft.).

5.

Lightly grease ABS sensor and bush, using silicone grease (Staborags NBU-Wabco 830 502, 0634 or Wacker chemie 704-Wabco 830 502, 0164
Kluber GL301).

6.

Fit ABS sensor bush.

7.

Fit ABS sensor fully into bush, secure lead to brackets.

8.

Install disc shield with bolts. Tighten to 8 Nm. (6 lbf. ft.).

9.

Fit brake disc, secure with screw. Tighten to 25 Nm. (18 lbf. ft.).

10.

Untie brake caliper.

11.

Fit brake caliper, secure with new mounting bolts. Tighten to 165 Nm. (122 lbf. ft.).

12.

Remove previously loosened guide pin and swivel caliper upwards.

13.

Fit brake pads with chamfer towards leading edge of disc (towards rear of vehicle). Swivel caliper downwards into position.

14.

Fit guide pin bolt. Tighten to 35 Nm. (26 lbf. ft.).

15.

Apply brake pedal several times to locate pads.

16.

Check axle fluid level and top up as necessary.

17.

Fit road wheels. Tighten to 108 Nm. (80 lbf. ft.).

18.

Road test vehicle and check for leaks.
