NOTE:

Shake the bottle of silver electrically conductive paint thoroughly.

9. Open the bottle and clean the stem of the brush to prevent drips.

Hold a paper towel around the cap and stem to catch drips.

WARNING:

The heated rear screen should NOT be operated for a minimum of 45 minutes after the last coat has been applied.

CAUTION:

Repair should be visually assessed from inside and outside the vehicle, should masking have been incorrectly applied so that excessive conductive paint
has been applied the paint can be removed carefully using a metal tool. Extreme care needs to be taken not to damage glass or break heater element if
this practice is undertaken.

NOTE:

The heat gun temperature should not exceed 90°C (195°F) to avoid damaging any trim adjacent to the glass.

10. Apply the first of four coats of paint to the damaged heater line(s). (Figure 3)

Each coat must be very thin; blot the brush on a paper towel before applying the paint to the glass.

After each coat has been applied, use a suitable heat gun to reduce the drying time; this also increases the bond to the glass.

NOTE:

The heat gun temperature should not exceed 90°C (195°F) to avoid damaging any trim adjacent to the glass.

11. Apply the air gun for approximately one (1) minute; allow the glass to cool down for five (5) minutes before applying the next coat.

The application of the paint and the use of the heat gun should be repeated for each of the four coats.

NOTE:

Perform other tasks while waiting for the cure time to pass.

12. Wait 10 minutes after the fourth coat has been applied; carefully remove the Teflon(R) tape.

Wait a further 35 minutes after removing the tape before operating the heated rear screen heater.

CAUTION:

Do not use heavy/abrasive pressure to the rear screen during cleaning after the paint application.

13. Re-apply the heat sensitive paper to the inside surface of the rear screen heater element grid (away from the repaired area[s]).
