Variable Induction Control Valve: Service and Repair
Removal

PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect cable from negative terminal of battery.

CAUTION:  Turn the ignition switch to "LOCK". Disconnect the cable tram the negative (-) terminal ot the battery. Wait 90 seconds before
proceeding with work.

2. Remove Data Link Connector 1 bracket.

Disconnect the Data Link Connector 1 from the bracket.

Disconnect the Vacuum Switching Valve connector (California only).

Disconnect the following hoses:

PS air hose from air intake chamber (1)
Vacuum sensing hose from air intake chamber (2)
Vacuum sensing hose from Fuel Pressure Regulator (California only) (3)

Remove the bolt, Data Link Connector 1 bracket and Vacuum Switching Valve assembly (California models).

3. Remove Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe.
