Pick-Up Coil: Service and Repair

PROCEDURE

The Pick Up Coils are integral to the Distributor and are not serviceable separately. In the event that either the G1 or G2 Pickup Coils or the NE Pick Up
Coil are determined to be failed it will be necessary to replace the Distributor assembly.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative terminal cable from battery.

CAUTION:  Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal
cable is disconnected from the battery.

High Tension Cords

2. Disconnect distributor connector.
3. Disconnect high-tension cords from distributor.

NOTICE:  Pulling on or bending the cords may damage the conductor inside.

Distributor Nut

4. Remove distributor.

Remove the nut.

-

Pull out the distributor.

-

Remove the o-ring from the Distributor housing.

DISASSEMBLY

1. Remove the three screws and remove the heat insulator.
