Models:  2006 model year GS 300 and GS 430 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

Introduction

Customers may complain that the trunk closer motor is not operating and the trunk will not close. An improved trunk closer motor has been developed to
correct this condition.

Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from
the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Parts Informtion

The supplier code on the part label should be "5J21" or higher.

Replace the trunk closer motor assembly. Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), 2006 model year GS 300 or GS 430 Repair Manual: Engine 
Hood / Door: Luggage Compartment Door: On-vehicle Inspection, Removal, and Adjustment.
