a. Inspect the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly. If any of the following occurs, replace the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly with a new one:

The surface of the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly is cracked, dented, or chipped off.

^

The connector or wire harness is scratched, cracked, or damaged.

^

The brake pedal stroke sensor assembly has been dropped.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR ASSEMBLY

a. New brake pedal stroke sensor assembly:

(1) Install the new brake pedal stroke sensor assembly with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 inch lbs.)

NOTICE:

Engage the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly lever with the brake pedal groove.

^

Check that there is no foreign matter attached to the brake pedal stroke sensor's contacting surface.

(2) Strongly depress the brake pedal and break the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly lever set pin.
(3) Remove the broken lever set pin.
(4) Connect the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly connector.

b. Reuse of brake pedal stroke sensor assembly:

(1) Temporarily install the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly with the 2 nuts.

NOTICE:

Engage the brake pedal stroke sensor lever with the brake pedal groove.

^

Check that there is no foreign matter attached to the brake pedal stroke sensor's contacting surface.

(2) Connect the connector of the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly.
(3) Connect negative battery terminal.
(4) Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

(5) Turn the engine switch on (IG). Reading the stroke sensor 1 value shown on the data monitor, turn the stroke sensor slowly to the right and

left to adjust it to the standard voltage.
Standard voltage: 0.8 to 1.2 V

(6) Fully tighten the 2 nuts.

Torque: 8.5 Nm (86 kgf-cm, 75 inch lbs.)

NOTICE:  Do not depress the brake pedal after turning the engine switch on (IG).

6. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
8. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
