a. Check the function of the SST.
b. Remove the rear seat airbag assembly.

CAUTION:
-

When removing the rear seat airbag assembly, work must be started 90 secondsafter the engine switch is turned off and the negative (-)
terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

When storing the rear seat airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

c. Using a service-purpose wire harness for the vehicle, tie down the rear seat airbag assembly to the tire.

Wire harness:  Stripped wire harness section 1.25 sq(mm) or more (0.0019 sq(in.) or more)

CAUTION:  If the wire harness is too thin or an alternative object is used to tie down the rear seat airbag assembly, it may be snapped by
the shock when the airbag is deployed. Always use a wire harness for vehicle use with an area of at least 1.25 sq(mm) (0.0019 sq(in.).

HINT:  To calculate the area of the stripped wire harness section:

Area = 3.14 x sq(Diameter) divided by 4

1. Position the rear seat airbag assembly inside the tire with the airbag deployment side facing inside.

Tire size:  Must exceed the given dimensions
Width:185 mm (7.28 in.)
Inner diameter:360 mm (14.17 in.)

CAUTION:
-

Make sure that the wire harness is tight. If there is slack in wire harness, the driver side knee airbag assembly may become loose
due to the shock when the airbag is deployed.

Always tie down the driver side knee airbag assembly with the airbag deployment side facing inside the tire.
