11. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM

a. Remove the 2 bolts and front suspension upper arm.

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM

a. Flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration before installing the nut.
b. Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 2 to 4 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the 5th turn. 

Turning torque: 0.98 Nm (10 kgf-cm, 8.7 inch lbs.) or less 
If the value is not within the specified range, replace the front suspension upper arm with a new one.

c. Check the dust boots for cracks or grease leakage.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM

a. Install the front suspension upper arm with the 2 bolts. 

Torque: 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft. lbs.)

2. INSTALL FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
3. INSTALL ABSORBER CONTROL ACTUATOR (for AVS)
4. INSTALL FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CAP UPPER (for AVS)
5. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)
6. CONNECT FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM
7. CONNECT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LINK SUB ASSEMBLY FRONT

CONNECT SPEED SENSOR FRONT

9.

INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER

10. INSTALL FRONT TIRE

Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)

11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
12. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
13. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
