d. Using SST, disconnect the toe control link.

NOTICE:

Securely tie the string of the SST to the vehicle.
^
Do not damage the dust cover.
^
Securely set the SST on the spacer of the axle carrier.
^
If the spacer of the axle carrier comes off, replace the axle carrier with a new one.
e. Put matchmarks on the rear suspension toe adjust plate No. 2 and rear suspension member.
f.
Remove the nut, rear suspension toe adjust cam sub-assembly, rear suspension toe adjust plate No. 2 and toe control link.
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT TOE CONTROL LINK
a. Temporarily install the nut, and flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
b. Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque: 3.5 Nm (36 kgf-cm, 2.6 ft. lbs.) or less
If the value is not within the specified range, replace the rear suspension toe control link with a new one.
c. Check the dust boot for cracks or grease leakage.
INSTALLATION
1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN TOE CONTROL LINK
