Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair
Removal

ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (for 2GR-FSE) See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (for 1UR-FSE) See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL See: Bumper/Front Bumper/Service and Repair/Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER See: Bumper/Front Bumper/Service and Repair/Removal
6. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Cruise Control System) See: Accessories and Optional

Equipment/Collision Avoidance and Parking Assist Systems/Distance Sensor/Service and Repair/Removal

7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER

(a) Remove the 3 screws.
(b) Detach the claw and remove the cable cover.

8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER PROTECTOR UPPER LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 clips and remove the protector.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the hood lock control cable.
(b) Remove the cap.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts and nut.
(d) Remove the hood lock.
