Removal

2GR-FSE COOLING: THERMOSTAT: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD)
3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 4WD)
4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL See: Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
5. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET See: Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
7. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT See: Coolant/Service and Repair
8. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

9. REMOVE WATER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH THERMOSTAT

(a) Remove the 3 nuts, water inlet with thermostat and gasket.
