Removal

2GR-FSE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
6. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Removal
7. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Removal
8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Removal

15. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle

Body/Service and Repair/Removal

16. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal
17. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and Repair/Fuel

Injector (for Port Injection)/Removal

18. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1)

(a) Disconnect the oil control valve connector.
(b) Remove the bolt and oil control valve.
(c) Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.

19. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Intake Side of Bank 1)

(a) Remove the bolt and V-bank cover bracket.
