Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Installation

2GR-FSE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

(a) Apply a coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the sensor.

(b) Install the sensor with the bolt.

Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(c) Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector.

3. INSTALL COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and

4. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service

and Repair/Installation

5. INSTALL OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and

Repair/Installation

6. INSTALL OIL FILTER BRACKET (for 4WD) See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and Repair/Installation
7. TIGHTEN COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and

Repair/Installation

8. CONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and Repair/Installation
9. CONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and

Repair/Installation

10. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and

Repair/Installation

11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
12. CHARGE REFRIGERANT See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair
13. WARM UP ENGINE See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair
14. INSPECT FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair
15. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH (for 2WD)
16. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 4WD)
17. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD)
18. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

19. INSTALL V-BANK COVER See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

20. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Installation

21. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform initialization See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning.

NOTE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
