SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal
4. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH FRONT See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service
and Repair/Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and
Repair/Removal
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service
and Repair/Removal
7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and
Repair/Removal
8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER NO.1 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /

9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY NO.1 PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /
Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Removal
10. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and driver side knee airbag assembly.
(b) Disconnect the connector.
NOTE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Installation

INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the connector.
NOTE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
(b) Install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
