2GR-FSE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and Repair/Fuel

Injector (for Port Injection)/Removal

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.

3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

16. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle

17. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal
18. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and Repair/Fuel

(for Direct Injection)/Removal

20. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.

(b) Remove the sensor.
(c) Remove the gasket from the sensor.
