Steering Column Lock: Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

STEERING COLUMN: ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK: DTC CHECK / CLEAR

DTC CHECK / CLEAR

1. CHECK FOR DTCs

(a) Turn the engine switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Turn the Techstream on.
(e) Check the DTCs. Enter the following menus: Body / Smart Access / Trouble Codes.
(f) Confirm the details of the DTCs See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Diagnostic Trouble

Code Descriptions/Electric Steering Lock.

2. CLEAR DTCs

(a) Turn the engine switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Turn the Techstream on.
(e) Clear the DTCs. Enter the following menus: Body / Smart Access / Trouble Codes.
(f) According to the display on the Techstream, select the trouble code data display with the clear button.
