a) Using SST and a hammer, release the staked part of the nut.

NOTICE:

Be sure to use the SST with the tapered surface facing the shaft.

Do not grind the tip of the SST with a grinder or other device.

^

Completely loosen the staked part of the nut when removing it.

^

Do not damage the threads of the output shaft.

b) Using SST, hold the flange yoke.

c) Using a deep socket wench (30 mm), remove the nut.
d) Remove the flange yoke from the transfer assembly.

8. REMOVE TRANSFER CASE FRONT OIL SEAL

a) Using SST, remove the oil seal.

9. INSTALL TRANSFER CASE FRONT OIL SEAL
