2) Add oil.

Capacity: 0.65 to 0.75 liter (0.69 to 0.79 US quarts, 0.57 to 0.66 Imp. quarts)
Oil grade: Hypoid gear oil API GL-5 or equivalent

Recommended Oil Viscosity

3) Check the oil level.

4) Install the differential filler plug and a new gasket.

Torque: 39 Nm (400 kgf-cm, 29 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE:  After replacing the oil, recheck the oil level after driving.

b) Rear differential:

1) Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), remove the differential filler plug and gasket.

2) Add oil.

Capacity:
2GR-FSE: 1.30 to 1.40 liter (1.37 to 1.48 US quarts, 1.14 to 1.23 Imp. quarts)
4GR-FSE (2WD): 1.10 to 1.20 liter (1.17 to 1.27 US quarts, 0.97 to 1.05 Imp. quarts)
4GR-FSE (4WD): 1.00 to 1.10 liter (1.06 to 1.17 US quarts, 0.88 to 0.97 Imp. quarts)
Oil grade:
2GR-FSE, 4GR-FSE (2WD): Toyota genuine differential synthetic gear oil API GL-5 SAE 75W-85 or equivalent
4GR-FSE(4WD): Hypoid gear oil API GL-5 or equivalent

3) Check the oil level.
4) Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), install the differential filler plug with a new gasket.

Torque: 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE:  After replacing the oil, recheck the oil level after driving.
