(a) Support the rear differential carrier assembly with a jack.

The rear differential carrier assembly is very heavy. Make sure to securely support it with a transmission jack to prevent it from
dropping.

In order to prevent the rear differential carrier assembly from tilting excessively or falling, perform the following procedure using
several people to hold the rear differential carrier assembly.
