2UR-GSE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR: REMOVAL
2UR-GSE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR: REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.
HINT: Disconnect the cable from the from the negative (-) battery terminal so that the maximum retard angle of the cam timing control with
EDU motor assembly will be learned.
2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
3. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL WITH EDU MOTOR LH ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the engine wire clamp.
(b) Disconnect the 2 connectors from the camshaft timing control with EDU motor and engine wire clamp.
(c) Remove the 3 bolts and the camshaft timing control with EDU motor LH assembly.
(d) Remove the O-ring from the timing chain cover.
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and
Repair/Removal
