Removal

2UR-GSE ENGINE CONTROL: IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG: REMOVAL

2UR-GSE ENGINE CONTROL: IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and

Repair/Removal

7. REMOVE BATTERY

(a) Disconnect the 2 clamps.
(b) Disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.
(c) Remove the nut and the battery clamp.
(d) Remove the battery insulator.
(e) Remove the battery.

8. REMOVE NO. 1 BATTERY TRAY SUPPORT
9. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY See: Relays and Modules/Relays and Modules - Steering and Suspension/Relays and Modules

- Steering/Steering Control Module/Service and Repair/Power Steering ECU/Removal

10. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and battery tray.

11. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
