Fuel Gauge Sender: Service and Repair
Removal

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
(a) Discharge fuel system pressure See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Service Precautions.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected See: Testing and

3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Rear Seat Assembly/Removal
4. REMOVE NO. 3 ROOM PARTITION PAD See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Pump/Service and Repair/Fuel
Pump/Removal
5. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Tank/Service and

6. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR FLOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Pump/Service
and Repair/Fuel Pump/Removal
7. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air
Induction/Fuel Pump/Service and Repair/Fuel Pump/Removal
8. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Tank/Service and Repair/Removal
9. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the fuel sender gauge assembly connector from the fuel suction plate.
(b) Press down on the fuel sender gauge assembly claw labeled A. Then slide the fuel sender gauge assembly upward.
NOTICE: Do not touch the sender resistance plate or contact area.
