Removal

LIGHTING (EXT): HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH: REMOVAL

LIGHTING

1. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system

NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering

Pad/Removal

4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering

Pad/Removal

5. REMOVE STEERING PAD See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering Pad/Removal

6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair/Removal

7. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/Removal

8. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Clockspring Assembly / Spiral

9. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY See: Sensors and Switches/Sensors and Switches - Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper

10. REMOVE TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH See: Sensors and Switches/Sensors and Switches - Steering and Suspension/Sensors and Switches

- Steering/Tilt Wheel Switch/Service and Repair/Removal

11. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Disengage the clamp and claw as shown in the illustration.
