2UR-GSE ENGINE CONTROL: KNOCK SENSOR: REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

(a) Discharge fuel system pressure See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the intake air surge tank assembly See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal.

4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and Repair/Fuel Injector (for

Direct Injection)/Removal

5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and Repair/Fuel Injector

(for Direct Injection)/Removal

6. REMOVE NO. 4 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and Repair/Fuel Injector (for Direct

Injection)/Removal

7. REMOVE CASE SEPARATOR

(a) Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and case separator.
