LIGHTING (EXT): STOP LIGHT SWITCH: REMOVAL

LIGHTING

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system

NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal

4. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

Repair/Removal

5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /

6. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /

Airbag Assembly/Removal

8. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Loosen the stop light switch lock nut and remove the stop light switch assembly.
