Rear Knuckle Alignment Link: Testing and Inspection

1. INSPECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Secure the toe control link sub-assembly between aluminum plates in a vise.
NOTICE: Do not overtighten the vise.
(b) Temporarily install the nut, and flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
(c) Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque - Torque: 0.9 to 3.5 Nm (9.2 to 35 kgf-cm, 7.9 to 30 in-lbf)
If the reading is not within the specified range, replace the toe control link sub-assembly with a new one.
(d) Check the dust boot for cracks or grease leaks.
