(a) Measure the resistance of the shift solenoid valve.

Standard Resistance:

If the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the shift solenoid valve SL5.

(b) Connect a battery positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector. Then

check that the valve moves and makes an operating noise.

OK:
Valve moves and makes an operating noise.

If the valve does not operate as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve SL5.

6. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL

(a) Measure the resistance of the shift solenoid valve.

Standard Resistance:

If the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the shift solenoid valve SL.

(b) Connect a battery positive (+) lead to the terminal of the solenoid valve connector, and a negative (-) lead to the solenoid body. Then check

that the valve moves and makes an operating noise.

OK:
Valve moves and makes an operating noise.
