Brake Caliper: Service and Repair
Rear
Removal and Installation
1. Using brake hose wrench 09751-36011 or equivalent and spanner, disconnect brake tube from hose.
2. Remove clip from flexible hose and disconnect hose from cylinder.
3. Remove caliper bolts, then the caliper.
4. Remove brake pads as previously described.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque caliper bolts to 25 ft. lbs.
b. Torque flexible hose to 17 ft. lbs.
c. Torque brake tube to 11 ft. lbs.
d. Ensure flexible hose is not twisted.
e. Fill reservoir, bleed brakes and check for leaks.

Refer to Fig. 2 when performing caliper overhaul operations.
DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove caliper as previously described under REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.
2. On all models, remove cylinder boot set ring and cylinder boot.
3. Place a piece of cloth between piston and caliper assembly. Using compressed air, remove piston.
4. Remove piston seal from cylinder.
5. On Except ES 250 models, remove sliding pins from torque plate. Using a chisel and hammer, tap out dust boots.
