(a) Turn the crankshaft pulley and align its groove with the timing mark "0" of the No.1 timing belt cover.
(b) Check that the timing marks of the camshaft timing pulleys and timing belt rear plates are aligned. If not, turn the crankshaft 1 revolution (360°
).
32. Remove timing belt tensioner.
HINT: (Re-using timing belt) If the installation marks have disappeared, before removing the timing belt, place new installation marks on the
timing belt to match the timing marks of the camshaft timing pulleys, and place a new installation mark on the timing belt to match the end of the
fan bracket.

(When replacing timing belt tensioner only) To avoid meshing of the pulley and timing belt, secure 1 with string. Place matchmarks on the
timing belt and RH camshaft timing pulley.
