Steering Column Lock: Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

With Manufacturer's Scan Tool

DTC CHECK / CLEAR 

1. CHECK DTC

(a)

Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c)

Turn the tester on.

(d) Enter the following menus:

(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / SMART ACCESS / DTC INFO /
(2) Techstream - Select: Body / Certification ECU / Trouble Codes /

(e)

Read the DTCs.

2. CLEAR DTC

(a)

Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c)

Turn the tester on.

(d) Enter the following menus:

(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / SMART ACCESS / DTC INFO /
(2) Techstream - Select: Body / Certification ECU / Trouble Codes /

(e)

Erase the DTCs.

Without Scan Tool

DTC CHECK / CLEAR 

1. CHECK DTC

(a)

Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c)

Turn the tester on.

(d) Enter the following menus:

(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / SMART ACCESS / DTC INFO /
(2) Techstream - Select: Body / Certification ECU / Trouble Codes /

(e)

Read the DTCs.

2. CLEAR DTC

(a)

Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c)

Turn the tester on.

(d) Enter the following menus:

(e)

Erase the DTCs.

With Manufacturer's Scan Tool

1. CHECK DTC

(a)

Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
