Spark Plug: Service and Repair
Removal

1UR-FSE IGNITION: IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH See: Starting and Charging/Charging System/Alternator/Service and Repair/Removal
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.
NOTE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and
settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery
terminal.

3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal
5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine/Removal

6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine/Removal

7. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal
8. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal
9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY LH See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal

10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY RH See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal
11. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Electronic Brake Control

Module/Service and Repair/Removal

12. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Electronic Brake

Control Module/Service and Repair/Removal

13. REMOVE BATTERY

(a) Disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.
(b) Disconnect the battery cable clamp.
(c) Remove the nut, battery clamp and No. 2 battery clamp bolt.
(d) Remove the battery insulator.
(e) Remove the battery.

14. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and battery tray.

15. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

(a) Remove the No. 1 relay block cover.
