SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.

5. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (W/O Driver Monitor Camera) See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and

9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /

10. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /

11. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the control cable.
(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the lock lever.
(c) Remove the 4 bolts.
(d) Detach the clip and remove the driver side knee airbag.
(e) Disconnect the connector.
NOTE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
