DIFFERENTIAL: FRONT DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL (for AWD): REPLACEMENT

REPLACEMENT

1. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
2. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL See: Fluid - Differential/Testing and Inspection
3. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the engine assembly See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine/Removal.

4. INSTALL ENGINE ON ENGINE STAND See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine/Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY See: Differential Carrier/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front

Differential Carrier Assembly/Removal

6. REPLACE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Set the differential carrier to an overhaul stand, as shown in the illustration.
(b) for LH:

(1) Using SST, remove the oil seal LH.

SST: 09308-00010

(2) Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new oil seal LH to the differential carrier assembly.
