(b) Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (ILL+-1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5 (ILL--1) of the steering pad switch connector.

(c) Check if the illumination for the steering pad switch comes on.

OK:

Illumination for the steering pad switch comes on.

NG --  REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (STEERING PAD SIDE)  See: Steering Mounted Controls
Transmitter/Service and Repair/Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly    See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable/Service and

Repair/Removal.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent the

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - NO. 1 METER ECU AND BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the L113 radio receiver assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the L10 No. 1 meter ECU sub-assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
