CELLULAR COMMUNICATION: LEXUS ENFORM SYSTEM: PRECAUTION

1. PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:

w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

*

After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from
the negative (-) battery terminal.

*

If the cable has been disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal, it is necessary to initialize the system. To initialize the system,
perform the following procedures:

Move the vehicle to an open area with good GPS reception.

HINT
The GPS icon is displayed on the map screen when the reception is good.

*

Turn the engine switch on (IG), and then wait several minutes while the system acquires time and location data and activates Destination
Assist and Destination.

*

Turn the engine switch off and then on (IG) again to initialize XM Sports and XM Stocks services.

HINT
*

XM Sports and XM Stocks services are only available if XM Radio is active and the vehicle is equipped with LEXUS ENFORM.

*

XM Sports and XM Stocks services may take several minutes to update.

2. PRECAUTIONS FOR DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY

(a) An HDD is built into the display and navigation module display to store map and other data which are used for the navigation system.

Therefore, care must be taken with the following points when handling it.

(1) Do not apply any vibration or shock to the display and navigation module display.

NOTICE:

Do not drop or subject the display and navigation module display to severe impacts.

*

Do not use the display and navigation module display if it has been dropped or subjected to any severe impacts.

(2) Do not remove the display and navigation module display if there is a risk that condensation may occur.

NOTICE:
If the temperature of the display and navigation module display changes rapidly, condensation may occur inside the unit. This may
cause a malfunction of the HDD. Therefore, when the display and navigation module display is removed from the instrument panel, it
needs to be kept inside the vehicle or in an environment with an equivalent temperature and humidity.

(3) Take measures to prevent static electricity.

NOTICE:
Touching the terminals of a connector can cause static electricity to be transmitted to the internal circuits. This may cause a
malfunction of the HDD.
